The aim of SocialErasmus is to enrich the international experience of young people abroad with volunteering activities, allowing them to glean an insight into issues that span society and work together to find solutions, to foster a positive change in the world.
We strive to show the added value of volunteering as part of an exchange period or Erasmus placement, but it can be difficult to put into words how enriching it can be to give your time for the good of others, and how memorable it is to expose yourself to realities other than your own, and that of the exchange student community.
So, we asked the students themselves. How has involvement in SocialErasmus activities enriched their Exchange? How has their Erasmus been made better by volunteering?
Now, it is a pleasure to announce the #EnrichYourErasmus campaign, delivered by exchange students, to show just what difference volunteering made to their exchange experience.
#EnrichYourErasmus will feature on the SocialErasmus Facebook fanpage, with bi-weekly releases from exchange students all across Europe and beyond, telling how their experience was enriched through their volunteering at events organised by the 500 sections of ESN, and the Local and National Coordinators of SocialErasmus across the network.
With over 16,000 exchange students having left their marks with SocialErasmus this year alone, there are plenty of voices to be heard, and experiences to be shared.
