SocialErasmusSTAR Award

Spanish and Greek ESN sections were recognised by their great implementation of SocialErasmus.

The SocialErasmusSTAR Award had its first edition in 2015 to reward the best SocialErasmus activity. In 2016, the International SocialErasmus Team decided that the efforts of ESN SocialErasmus Coordinators should be recognised not only for the activities organised but also for the implementation of the Project, considering the following criteria:

  • Have an official Local SocialErasmus Coordinator;
  • Keep the database of their Local SocialErasmus Coordinators up-to-date;
  • Quality of the SocialErasmus activity proposed;
  • Registration of the SocialErasmus activities in all the available systems;
  • Cooperation with other ESN sections;
  • Media coverage of the activity;
  • Promotion materials created before and after the event following the SocialErasmus visual identity;

Thus, during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of ESN in Warsaw, Spain and Greece saw their ESN sections being awarded with the SocialErasmusSTAR Award.

These awards are annually awarded at a ceremony at the AGM, the main decision-making body of ESN International.
All the official sections of our network are invited to the AGM to decide about how the network should be working the following year. During the AGM the sections also decide about strategic issues, as well as about the budget and elect the new International Board.

2015

"Go Social with ESAA"

SocialErasmus projects of ESN sections and countries were selected to get up to EUR 5000 under the "Go Social with ESAA" grant, a funding scheme with the aim of empowering ESAA members to see their socially oriented ideas come to life.

The Erasmus+ Student and Alumni Association (ESAA) is the umbrella association for: Erasmus Student Network (ESN), garagErasmus (gE), Oceans Network and Erasmus Mundus Association (EMA). It brings together all European Union funded exchange students and alumni and offers a dynamic platform for networking, professional development and intercultural learning while promoting European Higher Education and worldwide cooperation.
With this social projects funding scheme ESAA wants to support its members in realising positive social change in their communities.

SocialErasmusSTAR Award

Three ESN sections were awarded thanks to their SocialErasmus activities: ESN Timisoara, Ase UC ESN Coimbra and Exchange Student Club VSB - TU Ostrava.

The ESN STAR Awards were born in 2008 to recognise the best projects, activities, sections, and countries of the ESN network, but the SocialErasmusSTAR Award had its first edition in 2015. These awards are annually awarded at a ceremony at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of ESN, the main decision-making body of ESN International.
All the official sections of our network are invited to the AGM to decide about how the network should be working the following year. During the AGM the sections also decide about strategic issues, as well as about the budget and elect the new International Board.

ESN Besançon "AG2R trophy"

ESN Besançon won the regional AG2R trophy in 2015 which distinguishes the intergenerational actions they run. It allowed them to get a moral support and important finances (6000€) to develop the intergenerational SocialErasmus activities in Besançon.

The trophy is organised by a structure which manages pension fund. This structure wants to act in favour of the seniors and disabled people to allow them getting involved in the society and keeping in touch with people to don’t be lonely. Among 28 applications 3 were selected and ESN Besançon has been chosen thanks to the originality of the activities (interaction between old people and international students) and also thanks to the cooperation with local structures involved in the seniors' life.
