Goal of the event:
Teach the Dutch children about other countries and cultures, and integration between international students and Dutch elementary children
Short description of the event:
We went to visit Tamarisk, an elementary school in Groningen, the Netherlands on three different dates. On Monday, Tuesday and Thursday international students gave presentations in front of different classes in the elementary school. The international students taught the young children about their culture and country by means of an interactive presentation. Many of them include pictures, videos, games, songs, candy and stickers to make it fun and interactive for the little kids. International students had the opportunity to see how the Dutch elementary school system works and were really friendly welcomed by the Dutch teachers and Dutch children.

The activity was really great. The teachers, the Dutch little kids and the international students really liked it. To improve the activity, next time we will start with preparing and acquiring the interested international students earlier. In this way, we are better able to provide them with an example of a good power-point presentation. This includes not many text, instead more pictures and videos. Also, make sure to emphasize a time way in advance and go together with the International students to the elementary school on time. We did this to make sure the international students don't have to hurry with preparing everything for their presentations when they arrived at the school. They had a warm welcome with coffee, tea and a chat with the ESNers and the teachers. In case you have any questions about this activity, feel free to ask me, just send me an email.
I will upload an image with ESN logo and SocialErasmus go as soon as possible.
