Goal of the event:
To raise funds for the Braga Red Cross' "Housing First Project" for the homeless
Short description of the event:
ESN Minho decided, in one of its boldest activities, to unite business with pleasure and do a step of the Caminho de Santiago as a charity fundraiser. ESN Minho organised a 20km-long trek, starting in Balugães (near Barcelos) and ending in the beautiful gardens of Ponte de Lima Each participant had to pay a fee of 10€, which covered transportation, an activity kit, a diploma for completing the adventure and, most importantly, a donation to the Braga Red Cross' Housing first project for the homeless, which aims at finding long-term housing as an essential first step for people who have been homeless for a long time to regain their autonomy and dignity.

Feedback:
The activity was a resounding success, especially due to the fact that it was a pilot activity. It was one of ESN Minho's strongest Social Erasmus activities, if not the strongest. The weather was favourable, everybody was in very high spirits and was 100% satisfied from beginning to end (end in which we finalised with a prank "Social Erasmus Wedding", which made everyone laugh a lot), and this was one of the activities with the highest number of participants recorded in ESN Minho Social Erasmus history. This not only made for a great atmosphere but resulted in a total of 210€ raised for the "Housing First" project, exceeding all expectations and earning us a special thanks from the very president of the Braga Red Cross.
Amazing activity, to be repeated!
